An Antique Early 17th Century Executioners Axe blade. Of one piece forged construction, with a large head for mounting to a handle or pole. With wide blade, tapering gently from the neck to the toe and heel. Broad cheek, octagonal into round eye cap. The cheek marked with blacksmiths letters, though now largely worn. Blade width 22cm, overall length 45cm. The blade is still sharp.
